Mondays are work days for me and I usually put on a pot of pinto beans and make a pan of corn bread, but today just seemed like it called for something heartier, so I made a big pot of beef stew.

The recipe for this stew is on here somewhere…I think!

If you would like to have it and can’t find it let me know and I will re-post it.

Home made stew is so good. It’s been awhile since we had one. 🙂

Give it a try Hazel and let me know how you like it. I don’t know if the seasonings would be available in your stores but they probably are.

It looks delicious. I haven’t had beef stew since my mother last made it. I make a lot of crockpot meals and bought several spiral-bound cookbooks when I bought the crockpot, but just stick with the same-old meals. I did tell myself when I retired that I’d expand my horizons … maybe next year.

I don’t even own a crockpot. lol ((Well there might be a couple that have wandered in from somewhere that are stored in the basement but I don’t use them.))

Since it’s just me, if I make something in the crockpot, I have lots of leftovers. I bought one for my mom years ago, thinking it would make her life easier. She said “thank you, but I’m home all day – why do I need a crockpot?” This was when they first came out. So I tried to convince her to keep it. I unboxed it, put it on the countertop and Mom, who was 5′ 2″ tall could not see inside it, so it went back to the store. It was a good deal too.

LOL Your mom sounds like my mom was. She had an old electric iron that she bought in the early 50s. I bought her a new steam iron. When she passed away I found the new iron still in it’s box untouched.

Yes – they do. My mom had her “sprinkler” she kept next to her for when she did the ironing with her electric iron and never used a steam iron either.

Mmm. Beef stew. Still too hot here but it’s on the future menu once the weather cools. Hearty beef stew and cornbread is a fave!

You need to try my recipe!!! I have been making it for more years than I care to admit!!!! It’s fork stew…not soup!

We are having breakfast for dinner. Scrambled eggs, sausage links and hash brown patties!💜

I like having breakfast for dinner. The hash brown patties sound yummy. I like potatoes any way they can be fixed.
