First, there’s Mt. Poomore!

I have a sweet neighbor about half a mile up the road from me. who operates a large stable. Consequently, he has scads of wonderful black fertilizer of the best kind! He unselfishly gives this away to whoever wants it. He graciously DELIVERS me a load once a year. No charge! (Us country folks help each other out that way).
Coming toward the house, on the left, over near the road is my pride and joy….Miscanthus Floridulus! It reaches a height of around 12 feet including the late summer bloom.

The grass clump marks the start of a long narrow bed that holds a few perennials and is supplemented with annuals each year. It varies in color and texture.
