The second house on my property (technically the first one) was built when I was around a year old. My parents upgraded from a tiny little place that sat about where my Woman Cave is now.

My childhood home .

My father passed away and Mama wanted to move into town to be close to people and doctors. She needed to sell the farm in order to buy a new place. I hated to see it go to strangers, so I bought it from her.

I gave the little house a total make-over and lived there for years.

There was no driveway up to the house and everything had to be carried up and down the hill, so Hubby and I decided to build a new house. That was 25+ years ago.

New house at about five years old.

Beautuful houses in a gorgeous setting – so different from my town centre loft appartment!

Thank you, and yes, quite different. I lived in town 20 years and had only apartment space. I would never go back. Just bury me beneath the willow!

Fortunately I have a beautiful beach at the end of my street, and a magnificent park opposite me, so it’s not all bad!

Such a peaceful setting. It’s special to live in your childhood home. My parents bought my mother’s childhood home when I was 8. They updated it and my mom lived there until she died. Then it went into non-family hands and through a series of upgrades — some wonderful and some not so great. They cut down the good trees and kept the weedy ones. Sigh! I still see it once in a while.

That is so sad about the trees.
Buying your childhood home is not quite like going home again….but it’s the next best thing!♥

      Thank you for commenting Maggie.
They are very different from each other. You could almost fit two of the little one into the basement of the larger one.

I could tell there was a large difference in the sizes. I would love to live in a very small house. Less to clean. lol
