Good Morning World!
It’s going to be another gorgeous March day! The sun is shining brightly, and although it was a bit nippy last night, it’s warming up nicely. (9:40 am) and 34°.
April is almost here and it’s time for some serious veggie garden planning.

Cabbage: Stonehead …plants are up and growing in the greenhouse.

Potatoes: Kennebec…will be planted on “Tater Day” April 10. I buy a fifty pound bag and plant about twenty pounds of them. The rest are perfectly safe to eat and are thoroughly enjoyed after having only the unsavory offerings that come from the grocery store.
Leaf lettuce: Old heirloom “Black Seeded Simpson” can’t be beat. A new favorite is “Green Ice”, similar in taste and texture with a bit thicker leaves.
Peas: “Sugar Snap”: Just a few so that the grandkids have a treat to eat straight from the vine. None of us care much for them cooked.

Onions: “Stuttgarter”, a very cold hardy Dutch onion that rarely ever has a bloom stalk. They make good sized onions and are a great keeper!

Coffee on the front porch is a must!!
Happy Gardening, Friends!!
