Yikes – that was us a few days ago – furnace on.

I haven’t turned the furnace on yet, but that time is getting closer.

I’ll trade you the coolness – we are back to the 80s for the next 10-14 days.

I love the coolness!!! Keeps me all “chirked up” as Pa would have said!

You sent me to my Funk & Wagnalls Vero. 🙂 I like that word and will remember it. We need to be more chirked up these days.

From Little House on the Prairie…Pa was always saying it!

I thought you meant YOUR Pa and I don’t remember Pa saying that word, but I liked and never missed that show!

LOL !! I think it was in the books rather than on the show.

Well, I read the books too … but that going back some. LOL! The TV show didn’t always mirror the books and this must’ve been one of the times.

Probably!!
Sometimes the shows were an improvement, but other times the books were way better.

Yes, very true. I don’t have TV, but I do stream some movies or TV shows on Amazon and also on the Peacock channel which I get free with internet provider. I have been watching “All Creatures Great and Small” on PBS for the last five years – it follows the book, but the previews for January 2026 when it resumes have suddenly jumped ahead by many years. I do enjoy the series, just seven episodes, but I read the books way back in the 70s.

Ouch!!! I guess 80s are better than 90s. If the humidity stays down, it might be bearable.

Yes, that’s true … the humidity is a killer sometimes. I have a walking goal each year and I add one more mile every year to the previous year’s goal. I am not going to make my 1,258 miles goal, my first year not reaching my goal since I began my walking regimen in 2011.

I wear a smart watch and keep count of my steps. Some days I have over 10,000 steps (around two miles) just doing general things around the farm. It keeps me in shape!
That’s a very impressive regimen for you to keep up with!!

Thank you, but YOU should be impressed with yourself Vero because 10,000 steps = 5 miles! It is amazing how the steps do rack up. On days I don’t walk in parks, like going grocery shopping for example, I shop at Meijer, a big grocery store, (like a WalMart) and I park my cart in the center and run around the store to grab my items and then schlepping in everything … yes, four miles easily. I don’t have a smart watch, but I have a pedometer, the original one I bought back in 2011, to keep track of my miles.

That’s a cool way to rack up the miles in the grocery store!! I do park way far from the door!!!!
WOW!! I’m doing even better than I realized! lol Only 6,033 so far today.

Yes, except occasionally I forget where I parked my cart, but guess what? More steps to find it again. I park far away from the door too for steps and so no one hits my car – it’s 16 years old and 14,169 miles on it. It’s just a baby! Pat yourself on the back – well, go back outside and get in more steps but I guess it is dark now, so forget that idea.

WOW!!!!! I have a baby car too …A 2003 Toyota Camry with just over 20,000 on it..! We’ll have to share pictures of our youngsters!
Yep it’s dark out there. I’m getting ready to hit the sheets. Good Night!!

Yes we will. My car before this baby was 21 years old and I think only had 84,000 miles on it and that was tooling mostly around town, although my mom and I took a trip down South and put some miles on it shortly after I got it. It had electrical issues and several recalls, so I finally had to get rid of it, to the mechanic that serviced it for years. I loved the car, but no longer deemed it safe, so had to part with it.
I took the bus to work downtown for years getting the bus at the end of my street, then I worked from home from 2011 to 2024, so that is why this car has such low mileage.
I was in bed shortly after I wrote this note as well. I had a COVID and flu shot yesterday and a side effect for me when I get them together is all of a sudden, I’m very sleepy.

We had the same temperature at the beginning of the day. I wore a light jacket to walk and was too warm when I got home. A breeze fixed that.

I spent half the day in a sweatshirt. Finally got warm enough to take it off!

So sorry you’re uncomfortably warm again. It doesn’t look likely that we will have any more really hot weather, but of course you know how fickle Mother Nature can be!! I’m hoping for a lonnnnnnnngggggg Autumn! It’s the time of year when I feel more invigorated!!!
