Happy mid-week, Pressers!
A brisk 48 in the hills of West Virginia this morning!
Another gorgeous day in progress!

You sent me to my Funk & Wagnalls Vero. 🙂 I like that word and will remember it. We need to be more chirked up these days.

Yes, very true. I don’t have TV, but I do stream some movies or TV shows on Amazon and also on the Peacock channel which I get free with internet provider. I have been watching “All Creatures Great and Small” on PBS for the last five years – it follows the book, but the previews for January 2026 when it resumes have suddenly jumped ahead by many years. I do enjoy the series, just seven episodes, but I read the books way back in the 70s.
Thank you, but YOU should be impressed with yourself Vero because 10,000 steps = 5 miles! It is amazing how the steps do rack up. On days I don’t walk in parks, like going grocery shopping for example, I shop at Meijer, a big grocery store, (like a WalMart) and I park my cart in the center and run around the store to grab my items and then schlepping in everything … yes, four miles easily. I don’t have a smart watch, but I have a pedometer, the original one I bought back in 2011, to keep track of my miles.
Yes, except occasionally I forget where I parked my cart, but guess what? More steps to find it again. I park far away from the door too for steps and so no one hits my car – it’s 16 years old and 14,169 miles on it. It’s just a baby! Pat yourself on the back – well, go back outside and get in more steps but I guess it is dark now, so forget that idea.
Yes we will. My car before this baby was 21 years old and I think only had 84,000 miles on it and that was tooling mostly around town, although my mom and I took a trip down South and put some miles on it shortly after I got it. It had electrical issues and several recalls, so I finally had to get rid of it, to the mechanic that serviced it for years. I loved the car, but no longer deemed it safe, so had to part with it.
I took the bus to work downtown for years getting the bus at the end of my street, then I worked from home from 2011 to 2024, so that is why this car has such low mileage.
I was in bed shortly after I wrote this note as well. I had a COVID and flu shot yesterday and a side effect for me when I get them together is all of a sudden, I’m very sleepy.
