I finally managed to catch one open!!
This gorgeous member of the morning glory family blooms at night and closes shortly after dawn.
Since I don’t have good feelings about going outside after dark (for obvious reasons…wink….) I have not been able to catch one in bloom to get good pictures of it until today!
It has several more buds and I hope to get to see some of them before Mr. Frost decides to pay us a visit.

Vero, so you are no fan of things that go bump in the night I take it? Spider webs that are strung across pathways, seemingly overnight and you walk into them – ugh! I am terrified of spiders and centipedes, a big thing like me (I am 5′ 9″ tall) (“the bigger they are, the harder they fall” as my late mother would say). My next-door neighbor grew Moonflowers one year. She had a window door wall that went right out to her deck. The Moonflower grew like a weed, stretching out all across the deck floor and she would stand at the window and take photos of it and send them to me.
I’m just like a little kid when it comes to Halloween. I love it!!!
I heard this morning that Halloween is second only to Christmas as to decor and treats and people spend more on their pet costumes than their own costumes!
Wow you’re lots taller than me. I’m 5’5″ and weigh 115. 4 3/4 ring size.
Yes, I am tall and my parents were short – my father 5′ 3″ tall and my mom was 5′ 2″ tall. I have no siblings. My maternal grandparents were short, my father said his mother was tall for a woman, but not sure where I got my height. I shot up as a teenager, towering over my parents.
I love my moon flowers. I am going to have more than one vine next year if all goes well.
Marge liked hers too, but she never grew them after that one year. I know once they took off, she didn’t move them, but could only put one chair on the deck the rest of the Summer.
