Any of you oldsters remember this song? The third verse sounds like it could have been written yesterday.

Hard to believe it is Grandpa Jones singing!!

I always liked Grandpa Jones I don’t remember him singing much. He gave me so many laughs. I remember those days and I have attended many camp meetings. You could hear the singing and preaching for miles. You are right about the third verse, Thank you, for this post Vero. It brought back memories of days I had not thought of in a very long time.

Grandpa mostly sang in the HeeHaw quartet. I really liked that show! I’m glad you enjoyed this post and could relate to it. I didn’t know how it would go over.
Church, camp meetings and revivals were a huge part of my life growing up!

We never missed HeeHaw that was mostly where I heard Grandpa Jones sing. Church, camp meetings and revivals were a huge part of my life growing up too.

Gee I’m almost a generation older than you!!
Actually I remember it from really early childhood days, so it isn’t surprising that it’s not familiar to you.

I grew up in Canada – perhaps that’s why too Vero. We moved here to the States in 1966 when I was 10.

That would be exactly the reason then.
The only thing I knew about Canada while I was growing up was the birth of the Dionne Quintuplets. I still have the picture that my mom got from a calendar, taken when they were about three years old.
