Y’all may or may not find this amusing. I still laugh about it.

Reading posts on X and a funny happening in my past sprang to mind. I was divorced back in the 70s from a guy who was a total jerk that I gave twelve of the best years of my life to before giving up. He had a girl friend on every corner, and stayed drunk and abusive every week end, when he was not at work. He did have a good job and made great wages.

I had warned him that I was leaving as soon as school was out. He just laughed and said ,”Go ahead. You can have everything…just leave me my truck.”
So I did!!

I moved out, lock stock and barrel, with no warning. I left him a little desk that was his as a boy, and his truck!

He came home from work to an unexpectedly empty house.

I just let it ride until HE filed for divorce.

At the first hearing, the judge sensed the situation and ordered my ex to pay me a large sum of money weekly until everything was settled. The ex griped, “I can’t afford to do that!!!! I have to pay (insert a ridiculous amount) for meals and expenses.”
The judge calmly said, “You may have to do some cooking at home to save money.”
Ex quipped, “I can’t! She took the stove!”
The judge quickly leaned forward, gestured with his hand, saying in an excited voice, “I know where you can get a good deal on a used one!!!”
Both lawyers cracked up……. (Ex didn.t)

I love it, Vero! I left my ex pretty much everything except my three teenagers and my dog. Plus it cost me $2500.00 for the divorce. Best money I ever spent. 😉 I am glad you got out. I know how good it feels. 🤗💞

I laughed out loud. That judge was a gem. I’ve been divorced to and I’m ever so happy about it.

    Have a fabulous day. ♥

Oh I’m so glad to see you say that. I wondered how it would go over. Yes the divorce was the only way. Both of us were better off for it.
