I’m sure I have posted this before, but here it is for those who may not have seen it.

It is a rare occasion to capture in digital form.

I don’t think we have them here. That photo is amazing

It is really something to watch. I was lucky enough to witness it once. I have never seen it again. I see the egg cases now and again.

Wow! I’ve never seen that before.
We used to have lots of mantises and sadly, like the monarchs, we rarely see them anymore.
    😰

This was my first time seeing it too! We don’t see many adult mantises. They are around though. I saw a small two inch one a couple of weeks ago.

So that’s where they come from! lol
We have praying mantises but I’ve never seen their nests.

The egg cases are easy to miss. They look like small pieces of sponge hanging on a stick.

We had a nest one year and all these little baby bugs were everywhere. Then they were gone. I wondered if they went searching for food or some predator ate them.

When I was in high school, someone brought one in and it hatched out in the biology classroom!! 🤭😂😂

Never have I ever seen a nest of those or them being born, so thank you!

You’re very welcome. I’m happy to be able to share it with my friends. It is the only hatch I ever saw. It was fascinating!!

We don’t have those in the UK. When my wife saw them on holiday in Bulgaria, she was terrified of them.
    Best wishes, Pete.
