A few years back, I decided to try my hand at oil paints. I really loved it, but it was so time-consuming it didn’t leave room for much else, so I dropped it.

I remember being so amazed at being able to do a few swipes on the canvas, and actually creating something recognizable.

I admire other people’s art because I have no talent for it.

I tried oils and that was a definite nope. I enjoyed water colors but the biggest surprise when I dabbled in the arts, was a love for sketching portraits. Not that I was good at it but you could tell who it was. I considered that a win. Love your beach scene. I’d love that in water colors.

I like the slow drying quality of oils. It’s so easy to do things over and over until you get them right. I’ve done a little sketching, but nothing good ever came out of it.

It was the slow drying that I didn’t like. I would paint something perfect (in my eyes) then bump something and booger it all up. 🙂

🤣🤣🤣🤣Yep I had a few of those “boogery” occasions too!

Thank you, and I have thought about it. Just not enough time for everything I want to do.

Oh, how pretty. I love it! Vero you have many talents. Thank you for sharing this. I gave up oil painting too. Sketching and doodling was much more fun for me.

Thanks for the nice compliment. I guess you could call me the “Jill of all trades”!
