Bearded iris are so finicky when it comes to their favorite place to bloom and prosper. I have one group of a beautiful purple variety that seems to be very happy. Of course it would be the case that they are growing where I really don’t want them. I stuck some there as a temporary holding area and they took off!

    I had mine planted by themselves and it was an ugly patch after they bloomed. I think they’re much better mixed with other flowers..

      I agree! The strong foliage makes a great backdrop for other flowers.
