West Virginia’s own French Creek Freddy.
An actual picture taken by me, many years ago of the critter that lives in French Creek State Park.

Freddie has been fairly accurate at predicting our spring warm-ups over the years.

They are cute animals and actually make good pets if you get them as babies.

I won’t keep wild pets either. Too much risk involved in several different ways.

How appropriate! This is the first time I have heard of Pete! (I have never seen a prairie dog for real)

We have prairie dogs all over the place here, empty lots have bunches, and we even have a dedicated spot for them = lots of acreage called Prairie Dog Town where visitors come to see the cute little critters. They’ve come up in the back yard before, too. 🙂

I haven’t seen one in ages. I fear they might be getting scarce here.

We have a family who lives and breeds under our barn every year. They can be destructive, but so cute.

We had one under the house a few years back but I haven’t seen any signs of them in a long time.
