Here comes Fern!! We are just north of Charleston.

A few days ago, we woke to a cool house.
Our furnace went on the blink!

Terrible timing since all this severe weather was coming up.

I called our usual repairman only to find that he had retired. I knew he was having health issues, but didn’t know he had retired.
I asked him to recommend someone and he happily did!

Made the call and found the new guy could come out the following day. We liked him immediately!
He quickly located the problem…the initial fan that kicks on before the burner ignites. The furnace is old and the fan had seized up. He cleaned it and got it working but said it was a temporary fix.

It stopped again the following day!

He ordered a new fan and said it might take several days to get it.
A MIRACLE!

The part came in this morning and he was able to come right out and install it!

So thankful someone was looking out for us. ♥

Now we are ready for that monster storm that is sweeping the country.

Still trying to figure out who thought it was a good idea to name a full-blown winter storm “Fern.” 🙄 Hope y’all weather it in good shape!

Hahahaha Irony at it’s finest!!! We’re ok so far! Getting the furnace repaired was a big step. We were warm enough with space heaters. (I have several) but I worried about water pipes in outer areas of the house.

Sure happy to hear your furnace is repaired and you now can stay warm. Some of my water pipes are frozen. Streets are covered in snow and sleet. I don’t know when the plumber will be able to come and unfreeze them. Thankful that I am warm and safe. Hope you stay safe.

Yes! He seems like a good, dependable family man. He cares about his clients. He was worried about us having problems during this winter storm event.

So glad you had a good repairman. Talk about bad timing for a furnace to die! Not that there’s ever a good one…
    Stay warm.

I am glad you got it fixed BEFORE the storm. Stay safe. Our forecast seems to change every few hours. Our snow totals are lower (but still high) because it looks like we will get more sleet. May start a few hours later than expected. No one really knows until it’s here.

The big snow has been a disappointment so far. I was kinda looking forward to a couple of feet!

IF IT WAS OK!!!!! IT WAS WAY MORE THAN OK!!!!
He’s young too. Just starting out and has his own business. He will be here for a while.

It is cloudy and dark here, (4:00) pm, but haven’t seen a snowflake yet. It’s calm and quiet. (The calm before the storm, I guess)
