A lot of my posts are about real-life happenings that have occurred over the years. This one is no exception. I still find it hard to believe.

I was rushing to an appointment, and late already, as is usual for me.

I was driving down my little country road, came around a turn and there in the middle of the road was a big box turtle.

(Not the same turtle)

I knew he would probably be smashed soon by a car, and should be escorted to the side, but I was late already, and just didn’t have time to stop!!

But my conscience wouldn’t let me go on, so I pulled over, picked him up and put him carefully in the grass at the side of the road.

I was stunned when, laying there on the grass, right beside where I placed him, was a ONE-DOLLAR BILL!☺️

Truly, “No good deed goes unrewarded.”

FABULOUS story. It’s as if you were being tested… WOULD you do a good deed? If yes, a reward.

How wonderful. The last time my husband stopped and rescued a turtle the only thing he got was peed on.
    🤣

What a wonderful story! I’m glad you saved the turtle and found the dollar, too. We had a box turtle for a few years, and also saved a few wild ones before, but never found a dollar beside them. haha 🙂

That was my only time! lol Quite a surprise! I do see them often though, and always make sure to feed them.

I guess we just like turtles. We saved one off the road in East TX one time too. Being that we live right by a little lake with lots of turtles, sometimes they wander up in the yard. My husband always takes them back down to the lake. 🙂

I live by a little creek and the water turtles come up my driveway and visit my little man-made ponds out back.

Yes, I think the original quote was “No good deed goes unpunished.” Someone thought it needed to be changed.
