The question has been asked: Do you ever see wild animals? Up close, about all I ever see are the usual birds frogs and turtles, but my game camera has much better luck. These are all living in the woods on my farm, but never come down near the house.

We get coons, possums, and skunks. There are coyotes and fox who live over closer to the lake that’s about 2 miles away. We occsasionally hear the coyotes. They really set off Jake and Toby. They have to go and and run patrol along the fence lines. Haven’t seen a bobcat in awhile. Which is okay by me. They might be “fren shaped” but they are NOT frens! 😆
I’ve only had one close-up with a bob cat. One afternoon I was sitting on the porch and a half-grown bobcat sauntered out from under the canopy across the road from the house and trotted right down the middle of the road like he didn’t have a care in the world. When he reached the driveway he went up into the woods and just kept going,

At my last house something was going into my pond and trashing all the plants. Every. Single. Night! I set up a camera and it was a single deer. She came for a swim (even thought it was only 30″ deep) every night. She must have seen the flashing red light on the camera but she came up close to check it out and I got a delightful selfie! Unfortunately I couldn’t chance damage so we ended up fencing the area in. Poor girl.
It’s exciting to see what goes on out there in the woods at night. I have lots of neat animal pictures.
