Why do peppers always wait until it is time for frost before doing their thing? I would have loved to see some bright reds and oranges among these, but a killing frost is imminent, so I decided to pull them all off.
Pickled peppers will be their fate!

Thank you. Maggie! I just gave my neighbor about half of them.

I love green as well! Different shades for different seasons or purposes. I’m trying to figure out what to do with all of the peppers.

Not a pepper person (except for the occasional jalepenos) so they could not do their thing I’d I be okay with it… *ducks and runs* Hope you enjoy them! 😉

I don’t like them either other than pickled.I don’t like the flavor at all when just cooked/baked plain as in stuffed peppers. I do like to munch on them raw when they have turned red, and have a bit more sweetness.

We used to go pick all the tomatoes ripe and green right before the frost, then put them in the cellar where they would keep, and the green ones would ripen. We’d have fresh tomatoes for a long time. Don’t know if that would work for peppers 🙂

No, peppers won’t ripen like tomatoes do. They will keep a long time in the refrigerator, but don’t ripen.

There must be a glut of peppers this year. Our local IGA has marked every pepper, hot or sweet, down to 1.99/lb.

That’s not a bad price at all! I know mine are really bearing well at this late date. ((Excuse the look of the site at the moment. I’m re-decorating. lol))
