Working jigsaw puzzles is my very favorite pastime second to being on the computer. I keep one going year round. I have two puzzle boards with drawers that pull out to better manage so many pieces.

I like colorful scenes or things from the past. I have three new ones being delivered tomorrow.

That should keep me busy for a little while.

One of my favorite things to do in the winter. I really like the puzzles you are showing here. I have never seen a puzzle board, it would sure be nice to have one. Keep enjoying working puzzles, Vero and have a wonderful day. Hugs

I had never seen a puzzle board either until I bought one. It is really nice to have if your only place to work a puzzle is on a table that has to be used for other purposes. With the board you just pick the whole thing up and move it. Also the drawers give you a lot more flexibility in sorting the pieces. and making it easier to look through them.

I will get one. That is exactly what I need. Right now the only place I have to work puzzles is on the dining room table. I am glad you posted about them. I saw they have them on Amazon.

Yes!!! And on WalMart’s site if you order from there. I get most of my purchases online these days. It’s so nice to have everything delivered right to the door.

I will check Walmart and get one there if they have the one I want. I will also measure to be sure to get the right size. I do all my shopping online. I no longer drive. Walmart has been delivering my groceries and other things since right after they started home delivery service. Have a wonderful day, Vero.

Exactly the way I do!! I’m too far out for home delivery, but I get non-perishable items delivered by Fed-ex. My daughter gets everything else. I still drive a little, but not much.

Cats can be murder on a puzzle. I keep mine well protected when I’m working one. Our house cat is not allowed in my room.

We have a puzzle going all the time, too. I like the ones you show. I don’t like just scenery. I want interesting things in the pictures. We like the regular cut pieces, but sometimes we accidentally get one with odd cut pieces and we just can’t work those. 🙂

“Bits and Pieces” brand took some getting used to. NO two pieces are exactly alike! It was very challenging learning to fit the pieces in, but now I love it.

They are all lovely. My late mother loved to do jigsaw puzzles and I saved some of the ones she did that I liked. I have some she did not get to which will last me the rest of my days. She did like Bits & Pieces puzzles and also White Mountain puzzles and also the Hallmark Springbok puzzles, all in 1,000 pieces. She also liked the Charles Wysocki prints – one of my favorites too.

At one time all the puzzles I worked were at least 1,000 pieces…lots were even larger. I would work patiently on them for weeks and weeks, being happy if I only found a few pieces each day.

I’m much more impatient these days!! I get bored looking at the same picture after a few days.

Ha ha – my mom would do that as well, the searching and searching for a few pieces. Very frustrating. Some of hers were really difficult – I admit I did not keep those, but I’ve not looked at the ones she didn’t get to. My house is small, so I don’t have a place to really set up a puzzle. My mom used the kitchen table during the day or the weekend and we moved the puzzle to eat. She had a huge soft Styrofoam board. Since it is just me, I have my laptop at the kitchen table, so I would have to buy another table to do the puzzle on.

Get a puzzle board. Then you can move it wherever you want it. Put it on a bed or even under a bed when you need to use the table.

I like the one that you have – that would be perfect. I have a small table in the kitchen for when I do watercolors and the board you are using would fit that well.

I have two sizes. I don’t have room for the larger one in my lofty hangout. It will easily hold a 1,000 piece one with plenty of room to spare.

I think I saw them advertised on Bits & Pieces website if I’m not mistaken. My mother’s Styrofoam board was a soft Styrofoam so it didn’t leave pieces anywhere. We got a new switchboard system at work and it was packed in all kinds of soft Styrofoam, so I brought one piece home for her. I still have it. I have a lot of things intended as hobbies in retirement, but that was before I began blogging. 🙂

I was at the grocery store today and walked past the toy section … on the end of the aisle was something I’ve not seen before, so I’m going to tell you, as you’re an avid puzzler. They had several types of Advent Puzzles. Some were Disney related, others dog and cat pictures and I think the other one was a landscape. There are 24 boxes with 50 pieces in each box and you start it on December 1st – very cool!

You are so welcome. I thought it was cool too Vero and I just got online and saw you ordered one. I am thinking of getting one for my friend Ann Marie – since I am alone (no family), she always drops by with homemade treats at all the holidays and often brings a little seasonal gift for me as well. She and her husband like doing puzzles – is it your understanding it is 24 mini puzzles, each 50 pieces? Or do you get 50 pieces every day (box) to add to the big puzzle? I love the design – the ones at the grocery store seemed more for kids.

Okay, thank you … I wasn’t sure as it wasn’t clear. When I Googled the puzzles last night, there were several that were very expensive and it showed the separate little boxes, so that’s why I wondered.

Yes. I just got in too big a hurry and chose one that wasn’t. I’ll have to get out my big board to work it. I can use it, but it crowds the space where I have to put it.

I was having trouble too, so I broke down and got new glasses. It helps a little but still not perfect. I have started using the puzzles with larger pieces and really bright colors. No more water colors and softly shaded scenes.

I have some of old stores and markets like the one you just worked too. I love looking through them.
Another thought, I have met lots of gardeners over the years and learned so many different flowers. It’s fun doing a garden puzzle and being able to name all the different flowers in the picture.
