This little ditty is so old even Mr. Google never heard of it!

Kissing is a proper noun
Standing up or sitting down.

Active voice, present tense
A kiss a day is common sense.

To kiss a miss is not unlawful
But to miss a kiss is something awful!

Kissing spreads disease, it’s stated..
So kiss me kid, I’m vaccinated!!!

Oh no … I just remembered I forgot the second paragraph … please forgive me and delete what I just posted. Now, I’ll put it in its entirety here, from memory, of course:
    *********************************************************************************

Vero, I will share a funny poem my mom had in an autograph book, from many, many decades ago about kissing. You will get a smile from it:

    He was teaching her arithmetic,
He said that was his mission.
He kissed her once, then kissed her twice,
    And said “now that’s addition!”

And then he added smack for smack,
    With silent satisfaction.
‘Til timidly she kissed him back,
    And said “now that’s subtraction!”

But Pa appeared upon the scene,
    And snorted with derision.
He kicked poor John ten yards away,
    And said “that’s long division!”

That poem and a few other cute ones in my late mother’s autograph book always gives me a smile.
Thanks for following my blog and I’m following you back. 🙂

I’m glad to give you a smile Vero. I have several of those little poems committed to memory as I thought they were clever. Sorry for forgetting the middle paragraph the first time.

That’s perfectly ok. Lots of my memories come flooding back in bits and pieces at times! It’s something you can’t force.
