TRUTH..STRANGER THAN FICTION

Truth can sometimes be just that, stranger than fiction.

One day Gina (granddaughter)and I needed to get away from all distractions and had gone out to our “cave” to do a spelling test (we are homeschooling).

I’m thinking this was around fourth grade (she is in sixth now).

I had covered most of the words and read off the word “fire”. I always use the word in a sentence to re-inforce the useage so I stated, “Ready, aim, fire!!”

Instantly we heard,

“BOOM”!!

We both sat open-mouthed and stunned for a moment and then burst out laughing.

Gina said, “Grandma how did you do that!

It seems that our neighbor chose that moment to “fire” off a gun (possibly at a raiding varmint or just for fun) not an unusual occurrence around here.
The incident made our day, week , heck made our year!!!
