Boxing match.

One of the things I love about life on the farm is seeing all the critters that live naturally around me.

My house and gardens are in the middle of 52 acres. About ten acres are meadow, with the rest being wooded. A little creek runs through the middle of it and provides a natural water source for anything that needs it.
Deer are plentiful and sometimes provide entertainment (along with the damage done by their grazing)
A few years ago I was fortunate to have triplet fawns grow up, literally in my back yard.
I got quite a few good pictures of them. The quality is not the best since I only had a 1mp camera with a 3x zoom lens. (Things have come a long way since then). Most of these were taken just after dawn, and from around 300 feet away.

It was hard to get all three in the same picture. I only managed a couple of those. Would have been wonderful to be able to grab a video.

“You can’t catch me!”
Two of the three.
Time for breakfast!

Yes, considering the distance I felt really fortunate that they turned out so well. Thank you Anne!

So cute seeing those deer on your property. Glad you got a picture. We don’t have deer around here. so it’s a treat to see these. 🙂

Strange that you don’t have any, but I can relate. From around the time I was born until the mid 60’s there were no deer here either. Once as I was walking to school, a deer ran down the hollow and it was the talk of the neighborhood for months!

Then they made a comeback (Probably re-stocked by the government) and now they are thick. It’s not at all unusual to see herds of 20 or more grazing like cattle.

Thank you!! It’s the farm I grew up on. I bought it from my mom when she decided she wanted to move into town after my daddy passed away. I love it and can’t imagine living anywhere else. I lived in town for 20 years and that was long enough.

    So adorable!
Triplets is rare, I’m jealous. Of them and your 52 acres. That sounds like bliss.
