Yesterday, I stepped outside the back door to take out some trash, and as I was starting to go back inside, I heard an unusual sound.

It was kind of like…”EEP”!
I stopped and thought, ‘Gee that sounded odd’!

I listened a while and started in the door.
There it was again…”EEP”!

This time I decided to investigate. I walked in the direction from which the sound was coming, still hearing it about every 15 seconds.
“EEP”
I pinpointed the location over near my little pond, and saw movement.

A frog was lying on it’s back in the weeds with its legs kicking and thrashing in the air.
I thought aww poor thing! It is probably dying of heat exhaustion and needs to be put in the pond.

I started to reach down for it and , to my surprise, a big black snake jumped out and slithered off into the grass and weeds!!!

The frog was now free and unharmed, and didn’t waste any time leaping into the water and disappearing!

That was one lucky frog.
