Entry for August 31, 2006 “LOVE AND TOMATOES”

A young lady recently wed was very happy except for one thing.

She loved serving her husband attractive meals with lots of fresh vegetables.

Her problem was…when she sliced the tomatoes and put them on the table he would pick out the very best slices for himself, leaving her the ratty ends. She deeply resented this but didn’t want to fight with her young husband because she loved him dearly in spite of his selfishness.

Then , magically a solution came to her.

The next time she sliced tomatoes, she sliced them vertically in quarters. This way each of them was able to eat some of the good insides of the tomato. He was none the wiser and a harsh quarrel was avoided.

Moral of story: A marriage can be happy or miserable. It’s all in how you slice the tomatoes.
