A few years ago, I was browsing through the garden center of one of the big chain stores and spotted these little pots of daffodil stems. They had completed their blooming cycle, and been trimmed off, marked down to 50 cents per pot, and just waiting for some kind gardener lady to take them home and love them.
I was very happy to do that and popped all three pots in my cart.
I was not familiar with the variety (“Tete-a-tete”, but felt optimistic about the whole thing.
I was soooo right!
They have rewarded me by flourishing, spreading and multiplying rapidly and becoming my favorite daffodil in the garden.
They bloom a good two weeks before the regular ones and the blooms just seem to last forever.
They are very petite and bright colored with upward facing flowers.
I’m so happy I followed my instincts and gave them a good home! They have repaid my $1.50 expenditure many times over.
